Desk top computer use is usually more demanding beginning in the late forties or early fifties. Make sure you find a desk that has an adjustable keyboard shelf which can be changed to suit the height needs for multiple users. The leading edge of the work surface on the desk needs to be between 24 to 27 inches high in order to allow for the arms of your chair. If this space is less than 24 inches, it will interfere with the armrests and could restrict movement.
Just because you sit at a desk for much of the day, don’t resign yourself to pain and muscle soreness.
