Repetitious work done at a desk can be very fatiguing, both physically and mentally. It will also put a great deal of strain on your eyes. It is imperative to take breaks to allow your body and mind to rest and recover at least one time every hour. Try standing up from your desk to stretch and walk around for approximately 3 to 5 minutes at a time. You will be amazed at how refreshed you will feel when you sit back down at your desk to begin work again.

You can choose timber, either very hard (for example, oak or hornbeam) or very beautiful (for example, cherry tree). It’s possible to choose an expensive breed, as mahogany, or cheap pine-tree. Of course, the harder and more beautiful the wood texture is, the more expensive will be a desk, made of it. Desks, made of natural wood, as a rule, look very respectable and they make a room cosy. To be in use for a long time such desks need special care, they shouldn’t be used in a dusty or damp room.
